Jared’s Jewelry, a jewellery store that specializes in jewelry made by the American designer Jared Leto, has opened in South Brisbane.
The store has a full bar, a full kitchen, a large outdoor patio and a full range of custom made custom jewellery, including pieces for the Mr Universe and Tony Award-winning singer, Justin Bieber.
The business, which has a total of 25 employees, has been opening in Souths Central Business Park since last October.
Its owner, Jared Letos, has previously said he would like to open a store in South Queensland, but the location was not specified.
“We will be opening in the same area as Mr Universe in the next few months, so it will be interesting to see what happens there,” Mr Letos said.
“I am hoping that we can bring a few more of our clients to Brisbane, so that there is some type of community there and we can expand into it.”
The store’s website says it has a selection of custom jewelled items.
It’s been in business for seven years, and the owner has previously revealed he had a dream to open an outlet in Brisbane.
“When I was in college, I went to school with Jared Letowitz, and we both had a lot of dreams for what we wanted to do with our lives,” Mr Letson said.
Mr Letos has worked with Mr Bieber, the pop star who is known for his signature diamond earrings.
Mr Bieber was also featured in a video for the store, and Mr Letowitz said the singer would be a fan of the store.
“He said to me, ‘It’s cool, I’m a big fan of Jared Letoys jewelry and you’re one of my favourite designers,'” Mr Letsons wife, Samantha Letos told the ABC.
“And then he also said he’s a huge fan of my husband’s work, and he said, ‘I want to open this store for you’.”
Ms Letos says the couple has also been discussing the possibility of opening a store with Mr Letoses wife, who has been studying business at the University of Queensland.
“If it does happen, I want to take the first steps to make sure that this doesn’t become a corporate venture,” Ms Letos added.
“That would be great.
But we would like it to be a very private venture and that would be the first step.”
The family has opened two other businesses in South Australia, the first of which is a shoe shop in Adelaide, and another in the Gold Coast.
